Privacy policy
Amaya respects your personal data. This page explains what we collect when you visit the site or get in touch, why we need it, and what your rights are.
Who we are
This website is operated by Amaya, a hotel in Platis Gialos, Mykonos. For anything concerning your personal data you can write to the email address in the Contact section.
What we collect
When you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp we receive the details you give us, such as your name, your contact details and the content of your message.
When you book through our booking engine, the booking system collects what it needs to process the reservation and the payment, such as name, address, email, phone number, card details and stay dates. The booking engine is run by WebHotelier and its own privacy policy applies.
When you visit the site, our hosting providers automatically log technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type and the page you came from, for security and to keep the site running properly.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It remembers your cookie choice in your browser's local storage, which stays on your device.
The map in the Location section is provided by Google Maps and loads only after you allow it. When it loads, Google may set cookies and process your IP address under Google's privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
How we use your data
We use your data to answer your enquiries, manage your reservations and keep the site secure. We do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with providers that help us run the hotel and the site, such as the booking engine, our hosting providers and Google for the map, and only as far as necessary. Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the safeguards the General Data Protection Regulation requires.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need to answer you, and reservation records for as long as Greek tax and hospitality law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format, to object, and to withdraw your consent. To exercise them, write to the email address in the Contact section. If you believe the processing breaks the law, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority at dpa.gr.
Children
Our services are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 without the consent of the person holding parental responsibility.
Links to other websites
The site links to other websites, such as the booking engine, Google Maps and social networks. Each has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the way the site works changes. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page.
Governing law
This policy is governed by Greek law and the law of the European Union, in particular Regulation 2016/679. The Greek courts have jurisdiction.
